Gary and Hawk have added boxes to the Screenshot Watch with some very nice screenshots. Hawk's screenshot depicts the SharpE shell whilst Gary's is Solaris' default Motif theme running on his UltraSparc.
I recently received my JNCIS certificate with #273 on it in the mail and scanned that puppy. You can see the scan here.

Completed another project last night. I've had this old 486/25 (Amos) that I've been using as a multicast sender/receiver on my router lab. I decided to reincarnate it as something else. First, I transplanted the 486 board with a 133MHz board I had laying around. Slapped 64 megs of RAM in it and installed Windows NT 4.0 to an old-ass Champ 1.7 gigger I had saved. I installed my older Diamond MX-300 soundcard into it as well. That MX-300 is easily the best sounding soundcard I have...too bad it won't work worth a sh!t in a Win2k/AMD system or I'd be using it in my main box. Anyway...here's where this is going. I installed WinAmp with a plugin that creates a webserver so you can access your MP3s and playlists through a browser. You can also totally control all the play, stop, next, etc, functions through the browser. Mapped drives to my main box which stores my MP3s and, to make a long story longer, Amos is now upstairs under an endtable, with its soundcard output going into an unused input on my Denon home theater receiver. Switch that over to VCR2, fire up the browser on the laptop and call up any and all MP3s in my collection...played directly through the stereo. It's rather kick@$$ to have that many songs on tap for immediate playback. I also added Amos to my network diagram. Just about running out of space on that thing. Yeehaw...

Added the "Screenshot Watch" sidebar. If anybody reading this site would like their desktop added, email me. Several screenshot updates (including Barb's new iMac) so check them out. Over the past few weeks, Gary and I have teamed up on some Winstep themes for the competition going on over at Skinbase. He did the wallpapers and I did the themes. You can see "Chromium Sand" here and "Plasmology" here. We hope to get one more done before the contest ends on the twelfth.

Wow, two updates in two days! What is this world coming to? Barb submitted a great screenshot of her laptop. Also, Gary submitted the screenshot to end all screenshots. Holy moly. This pic is 2560x1024...yes, a dual monitor setup on his G4 Mac running OS X 10.1.3. Visible in the screenshot:
- Main wallpaper is Gary's own "Beyond the stone field". The standard OS X clock and iTunes are also visible.
- An Apple Remote Desktop window open to Gary's newest toy, a G3 Powerbook laptop. You can see his "Hour of the Wolf" wallpaper in that one.
- An XVirutal PC window running Windows 2000 / Openstep Enterprise NT running NextSTART/Workshelf with Gary's "The Bradbury Ghost" theme.

Barb has combined several different skins together to make one _very_ cool looking desktop. Pravus by Tim Dagger, Faus-X Green Icons by mormegil, Official XBoxWMP for Windows Media Player by The Skins Factory. Been a long while since a post. Lots of new things. I upgraded my main computer to an AthlonXP 1700+, 512MB PC2100 RAM, and an EPoX 8KHA+ motherboard. Due to budget restraints I kept my current GeForce2 GTS video card but this new system really kicked it in the @$$. _Very_ quick. I suppose I'll need to update my network layout diagram.
Got the webcam working again. I'll try to keep it going as often as possible when I'm down here.
Back in February, I passed the Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist (JNCIS) exam. I'm number 273 in the world to pass this test. Brutal exam...
Our daughter turns two this Sunday...I can't believe it's already been two years. She is growing so quickly. Talking up a storm and really coming into her own personality. Children are amazing.
I changed up the theme on my server box to an oldie. Check it out.

Both Barb (Ladywolf) and I updated themes to Interlude by 'kyte' and myself. Sue (kyte) did the NextSTART portion of it and I made up the Workshelf. Very smooth and subtle theme. Check both screenies out.

I rebuilt my router today as the install was nearly two years old and acting _very_ strangely. In addition, I added some goodies. Check out the new website stats page under the 'Networking' section. I haven't got MRTG up and going yet though I may be looking to substitute MRTG with another traffic grapher. MRTG seems to be very processor intensive on this box (P100) so I hope to find something similar but less CPU intensive.
